From the US to the World

Based in Rutherford, New Jersey, we work across the United States and globally—with focused attention on Sudan and Africa—to build peace through language and culture. We provide cultural and artistic programs, education and community language initiatives, peacebuilding services, conflict resolution training, and research and advocacy that advance linguistic rights and cultural inclusion. Our programs range from indigenous African language preservation and translator mentorship to multilingual dialogue training and policy advocacy. Whether you're a community organization, educational institution, NGO, or policy-maker seeking partnership, we're ready to collaborate. Why Language Matters for Peace

We believe that culture and language are not luxuries or afterthoughts—they're fundamental to human dignity and lasting peace. Too often, communities facing conflict or marginalization lose their ability to express themselves in their own voices, to pass on their traditions, or to participate fully in decisions that affect their lives. We partner with communities rather than speaking for them, centering indigenous knowledge and local expertise in every project we undertake. Our work is research-driven and collaborative, built on relationships with grassroots organizations, universities, and international bodies. We measure our success not by the number of programs we run, but by the strength and resilience of the communities we serve. When language becomes a tool for connection rather than division, transformation becomes possible.

Built on Community, Driven by Evidence

We approach our work through partnerships, not prescriptions. Every program begins with listening—to community leaders, native speakers, local peacebuilders, and the people who understand their contexts best. We combine this community wisdom with rigorous research, collaborating with universities, NGOs, and international organizations to ensure our methods are both culturally grounded and evidence-based. We track impact, share results openly, and adjust based on what communities tell us is working. Our commitment to indigenous African language preservation and conflict resolution means investing real resources, building lasting relationships, and showing up consistently. This work isn't about quick fixes—it's about sustainable change that communities can sustain long after we're gone.

Experience Meets Purpose

Our leadership draws on United Nations service dating back to 2005 as a professional translator and language specialist, contributing to peace, justice, and diplomacy efforts worldwide. Recognized as a Marquis Who's Who Top Executive and honored with the UN Secretary-General's Outstanding Long Service Award, this background shapes every part of our foundation’s work. As a certified human rights consultant, our founder has led multilingual training and consultancy projects at the intersection of language, cross-cultural communication, and social justice. This expertise reflects a practical understanding of how language influences conflict, peacebuilding, and community representation. Tralingua Peace and Culture Foundation was created to bring this experience directly to the communities where it matters most.
